This is an opportunity to work on development of a cloud-based platform supporting the Affinity line of business globally. Affinity is a line of business within Corporate Risk & Broking (CRB) that supports clients to develop ancillary revenues through targeted solutions that help reduce costs, create differentiation, and improve customer retention and satisfaction rates.
The Business Analyst plays a key role on the program team, working proactively with stakeholders to define problems and helping to shape solutions. Reporting to the Lead Business Analyst, you will be working on one of the workstreams on the Affinity Technology Platform (ATP).
A Hybrid role with occasional travel to WTW Ipswich office
The Role
Lead requirements gathering for the assigned workstream, understanding client and customer goals
Act as Product Module Owner for assigned functional area (taking responsibility for impact assessments and related feature sizing)
Consulting and working with stakeholders from across the business
Writing and owning features, user stories and their acceptance criteria
Building the backlog of features and user stories and managing the backlog in consultation with the business and technical product owners
Drafting feature estimates and validating these with the delivery team
Creation of supporting analysis artefacts such as process, data models and interface specifications where appropriate
Creation of wireframes or screen mock-ups
Gap analysis of new requirements versus previous releases of the software
Working closely with on-shore and off-shore developers and test analysts to clarify requirements/answer queries
Participation in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, story development, retrospectives and demos
Presenting and demoing to the team and business stakeholders
Consider all audit, compliance, security requirements
Create and maintain wiki pages for functionality delivered
The Requirements
Insurance knowledge
Team player who can work well with Business Customers, other Business Analysts, Test Analysts and Developers
Experience of working in bespoke development teams, preferably spread across multiple locations
Agile/Scrum experience
Writing and refining User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
Coherent, concise verbal and written communication
Backlog management tools such as TFS or DevOps
Good to have Wireframing tools experience such as Balsamiq
Degree educated or equivalent
Experience of working in a software development environment and understanding of release management and software delivery cycle
Experience of supporting and enhancing an existing custom-built application
